• A Better Plan for Surrey-Whalley

Surrey - Bridgeview homeowner for 16 years.
Municipal Employee and Union member for over 20 years.

I am running to raise awareness for improving transit and reconsidering construction of the South Fraser Freeway. My concerns include:

- environmental destruction
- loss of waterfront access
- health hazards and
- economic pitfalls

I would like to see the Freeway - in North Surrey, replaced with more sustainable development, affordable housing, community gardens, artist live work studios, riverfront parks etc.

I will work with other levels of government to develop transit solutions to transportation problems. I believe listening to local business people, community groups and citizens is important, along with promoting recycling initiatives. Social justice is another high priority. I support addiction treatment, youth asset-building programs to reduce crime, plus expanding daycares, funding women's centres and eliminating poverty.
