JOIN THE LETTERS TO THE EDITOR CAMPAIGN!
Help out your local BC Green Party candidate by writing a Letter to the Editor of your local paper. All it takes is a few minutes each day to read the top stories online, or in your locally delivered newspaper, and write a letter to the editor on a story in the day’s news.
Check out www.greenparty.bc.ca to see what the important issues are for the 2009 election and then follow up on the issues with your local paper. Contact information for sending letters to the editor is on each newspaper’s web site and also in the printed version of the paper. Click here for a list of the major publications, grouped by region. Contact media_research@greenparty.bc.ca for more information.
Please note: Newspapers generally require that submissions include the author’s name, address and contact phone number(s). A good rule is to keep your submission between 50 and 150 words as most newspapers have a limit of 200 words and less is more. Also, be aware that most newspapers reserve the right to edit your submission and not all will contact you before the letter is printed. Always be sure to read the guidelines before you submit a Letter to the Editor.
