Search Engine Optimizer (SEO)
We need volunteers familiar with SEO to help optimize our website so it is more search-engine-friendly so we can elevate our position in search results to increase the volume or quality of traffic to our website.
Responsibilities
- Use web tools to track site traffic, rankings, and site visits
- Create and implement strategies for increasing site traffic through organic search listings without being blacklisted
- Research and resolve HTML code and content, link architecture and navigation issues
- Assist in layout of web pages when required
- Monitor organic search rankings to increase traffic and donations
- Analyze website strategies and translate qualitative or anecdotal data into recommendations and tactics for revising the strategies
- Research keywords using Google, Overture, WordTracker and internal tools
Skills and experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-directed
- Ability to manage details.
Education and Qualifications
- Excellent Internet and computer skills
- Knowledge of online marketing and search engine optimization
- Clear understanding of SEO, affiliate marketing and pay-per-click advertising
- Proficient in the use of Internet Explorer. Firefox, Google Chrome and other browsers
- Proficient in Word, Outlook, Excel
- Knowledge and experience with HTML and Excel
Requirements
Because this person will have access to our website and strategic information, s/he must:
- Be a member in good standing of the Green Party of BC
- Be a financial donor to the Party
- Provide a Resume and References.
