North Island
The economic, social and environmental challenges we face today need new thinking and better planning. Everywhere we turn today messages tell us that we need to go green. We've greened our homes and greened our work and now it is time to green our vote.
Only the BC Greens are able to build a truly green economy because our policies are all integrated to acheive that goal. We can't make a green economy with a Liberal government that plans offshore oil drilling or an NDP that threatens to 'axe' the carbon tax. The BC Greens policies and leadership are essential to the future security and prosperity of BC.
It is twenty one years since I came to the North Island to discover a spectacular part of our great country that I now feel duty-bound to speak up for, protect and serve. In that time I have explored most of the North Island backcountry writing books and taking photos that have contributed to our region's profile worldwide. I have made many friends and connections along the way from the powder slopes of Mt Cain to City Hall in Campbell River.
My experience as a small business owner has made me attuned to the rewards and challenges facing business and industry in our region and I am confident that the Greens' ideas of steady-state economics, smart investment in clean-tech and job creation in new green energy, manufacturing and retrofitting are exactly what is needed to build prosperity and regional self-sufficiency in the North Island and BC as a whole.
On May 12 vote Green and help me make a better plan for BC
Philip Stone.
